The Med Screen Arts Screenwriting Competition

All great films begin with a compelling story that evolves into a well-crafted script. At the Screen Arts Centre, this process sits at the heart of our educational and creative philosophy.

The Med Screen Arts Screenwriting Competition was launched to celebrate original storytelling and to provide writers with the opportunity to have their work critically reviewed within a professional, industry-informed framework. The competition attracted over 1,100 submissions from writers worldwide, reflecting a wide range of voices, genres, and cultural perspectives.

Submitted screenplays were assessed by an international jury of senior film and television professionals, including an Oscar-nominated and Palme d’Or-winning director and a former senior studio executive from CBS, FOX, and Lifetime.

The competition was delivered exclusively through FilmFreeway, the world’s leading platform for film festivals and creative competitions, ensuring broad international access and a transparent submission process.
