Honorary Judge 

 

Bruce Vinokour 

The Honorary Judge for this year's competition is Bruce Vinokour, a television packaging agent
at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for nearly 45 years, represents top authors and estates, and
packages major TV projects like "JOHN ADAMS" and "THE WALKING DEAD." His most recent work features the FX and Hulu series, "Shogun", that has just been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3.

British acclaimed Palme d'Or winner, Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated director and producer with over 50 years of industry experience, directed The Killing FieldsThe Mission and Vatel

Trevor Walton

Senior television executive with extensive experience in leading 4 North American network scripted departments; CBS, FOX, LIFETIME and the CBC. Considerable experience in developing and executive producing international co-productions.

The winner will receive:
€5,000 cash prize
● Tour of the CAA office in Los Angeles and a meeting with an expert
● Three 30-minute online mentoring sessions by top professionals in the field.

The 3 finalists will receive:
● Recognition on the MSAA website
● One 30-minute online mentoring session

● Winners and top finalists may be contacted by interested industry representatives, such
as managers, agents, or producers.
● Entrants may be required to submit further information to assist in the judges’
verification of eligibility.
● Any entrant may be deemed ineligible as a Finalist or Winner at the sole discretion of the
Screen Arts Centre.
● All recognition, placements, and winners are chosen at the sole discretion of the Screen
Arts Centre.
● Finalists may be required to sign and return within seven (7) business days of receipt a
notarized Affidavit of Eligibility and a Release and Indemnification and proof of valid
passport and any other documents that The Screen Arts Centre or any other partner
may require before receiving prize payment. Failure to respond to the initial notification
within ten (10) days or return of notification may result in disqualification.
● Being selected as the winner or finalist of this prize does not constitute or guarantee
representation by the industry professional or involvement of any kind by the company
they work for.
● The approach and manner in which the industry professional(s) and winner interact is at
their discretion. The Screen Arts Centre will have no involvement in the process beyond
facilitating an introduction.

  • Screenplay (1 per submission fee)
  • Treatment of maximum 2 pages 
  • Character descriptions

All scripts must remain anonymous, only include your name or the names of the writers on the application form but nowhere on the official screenplay.

● Each script submission must include, within the same document, a one-page treatment and a clear character breakdown. These should appear in the first one to two pages of your document, followed by the script itself.

● English language only.

● Submissions are accepted via Filmfreeway only.

● Minimum number of pages 45 maximum number 110 pages.

● Feature scripts only.

● All Genres accepted.

● Proper screenplay format.

● Final draft software or equivalent.

● The Screen Arts Centre claims no ownership nor option on your work. All ownership and rights to the scripts submitted to this contest remains with the original rights holders.

● The decision of the judges will be final and cannot be contested in any manner.

● The Screen Arts Centre reserves the right to change deadlines and announcement dates at any time.

● The Screen Arts Centre reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.

 By entering the competition, users acknowledge their eligibility for the competition.

The Screen Arts Centre may verify all eligibility requirements at the finalist stage of the competition and before distributing any prizes.

It is the responsibility of the participant to adhere to the rules, if the rules are not followed the Screen Arts Centre has the right to automatically remove you from the competition.

Mediterranean Screen Arts Academy and its affiliates shall not be liable for any changes related to the competition, including but not limited to alterations in the timeline, adjudication of scripts by judges, distribution of prizes, and other associated aspects

The Screen Arts Centre or any other partner, employee or agent associated with this contest
claims no ownership nor first right of option to any original screenplay submitted to this contest.
All ownership and rights to the scripts submitted to this contest remains with the original rights
holders until and unless other agreements are made.

Except where prohibited by law, participation in the contest constitutes each entrant’s consent
to The Screen Arts Centre and its agents’ and contest sponsor’s use of entrants’ names,
likenesses, photographs, and/or personal information for promotional purposes in any media,
worldwide, without further payment or consideration. All uses of entrants' information are in
accordance with our Privacy Policy.
