2024 Foundations in Filmmaking from Story to Screen

This Programme offers a comprehensive course that covers a multitude of filmmaking aspects. We’re committed to providing our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career in the film industry. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the latest techniques and technology and put your skills into practice with hands-on projects. Everyone pitches a short story, and the best pitch gets developed under the close supervision of industry professionals. The classes are taught by experienced professionals covering everything from writing and directing to cinematography and the often-neglected business training any aspiring filmmaker should be learning.

Programme Structure

Week 0 
3 online introductory meetings with Academic dean discussing the art of short films

Week 1 to Week 6 are all held in Malta.

Orientation day and team building workshop
Pitching workshop
Basics of storytelling and character development
Formatting industry standard screenplays

Week 2
Developing a short, no-dialogue screenplay from concept to final draft
Cinematography / Lighting
